Gene: Dopamine Receptor D4 (DRD4)
DRD4 is involved in signaling in the brain in an
area that is responsible for regulating emotion
and behaviors. The D4 subtype codes for a
protein that inhibits a regulatory enzyme called
adenylyl cyclase. The mutations in the gene is
linked with neurological conditions such as
autonomic nervous system dysfunction and
ADHD.
